Cooperatives
are member-owned,
member-governed businesses that operate for the benefit of their owners
according to common principles agreed upon by the international
cooperative community. The ownership structure
established and approved by the Medford Market Cooperative Board of
Directors is
outlined as follows.
The current ownership dues are $100 with the option to pay in two
installments with $50 for the first installment and the second
installment of $50* due within 45 days.
Joint ownerships can be brought with a spouse or a partner.
However joint ownerships of $100 only allow for one vote.

items not regularly
sold in the store & bulk purchases, Discounts on pre-ordered
cases or bulk
purchases)
Discount
on classes and events hosted by the
co-op
Opportunity
to
rent community room
Annual Gathering of owners and dinner
Ability to run for the board of
directors and
participate in co-op sub-committees
*It
is understood that the board working on the behalf of the owners may
change the the amount of ownership duesand payment options as
necessary. It is
recommended
that the Board exhaust all other possibilities (Owner Loan Program,
grants, new
member equity, wish list of donations sought for other store needs)
before
raising any ownership payment. Payment shares (the
cost of ownership payment) may not
exceed $300 or the corresponding provision of any subsequently enacted Oregon
statute.
